AI Partnership Simplifies College Admissions and Compliance Process
OKLAHOMA CITY, June 2, 2025 Grooper and Mutara announced their collaboration to assist colleges and universities with streamlining processes for student admission and compliance. Grooper utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) technology to “read” digital and paper documents and facilitates processes with documents. Mutara develops online platforms that assist colleges to manage applications, enrolling students, and following different legal requirements.
They are bringing a solution to the market that allows the application process for colleges to become quicker, easier, and more accurate for both schools and students. Historically, the reviewing of documents to demonstrate eligibility was often a tedious process for many colleges, requiring the checking of proof of residency, citizenship, and financial aid documentation. It was sometimes a manual process that could lead to mistakes and consume significant staff time.
Grooper and Mutara are addressing this issue by utilizing AI within their new system. The system will read the necessary documents, analyze the documents sufficiently enough to extract necessary data, and will ensure the documentation complies with the school policy and any governing documents. As a result, staff and student will see fewer errors and less manual work. Grooper’s AI will analyze any document format and accurately extract data, while Mutara’s student-facing platform is where students upload their documents, and where colleges check documents agains
t school rules. It’s very easy for schools to demonstrate that they are in compliance with all the regulations associated with financial aid, immigration and residency. Fraud is also minimized since the system checks for illicit documents to ensure they’ve been verified. Alongside this, staff can also save time and money with separation of their processing work being reduced by nearly 80%. This process helped colleges recruit even more students with enrollment numbers possibly attending to increase by 44%.
As Larry Grey, Chaired CEO of Mutara mentions, this partnership is not only about using new technology but instead, it will give schools smarter tools allowing them to get back to focusing on helping students, rather than paper processing. This powerful partnership is the first step in modernizing the admissions process and simplifying it for all stakeholders.
