New EHR to increase staff efficiency and enhance care coordination

Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH) has selected Oracle Health’s Foundation electronic health record (EHR) to support improved clinical decision-making, enhance the patient experience, and enable more coordinated care across its teams.

As part of its ongoing digital transformation strategy, CMH will adopt Oracle Health’s EHR to create a modern infrastructure that drives staff efficiency, fosters innovation, and enhances care coordination among providers. By consolidating health information into a single, integrated platform, the new system will help clinicians and staff access a more complete view of each patient’s health journey.

“This new EHR reflects who we are becoming as a hospital – connected, responsive, and ready for what’s next. It’s an investment in our teams, our patients, and the future of health care in our region,” said Patrick Gaskin, president and chief executive officer, CMH.

In a move to strengthen collaboration across the region, CMH will join the Waterloo Regional Health Network’s (WRHN) existing EHR ecosystem. This alignment is expected to simplify patient record sharing, streamline implementation, and ensure smoother transitions of care between facilities.

Adopting Oracle Health’s EHR will also position CMH to scale services as the community grows, explore AI-powered innovations, and gain deeper clinical and operational insights through enhanced data and analytics.

“We’re honoured to team with CMH on their journey to modernize clinical and operational systems,” said Erin O’Halloran, vice president and Canada market leader, Oracle Health. “By equipping care teams with streamlined tools and secure access to vital patient data, we’re helping drive greater efficiencies, reducing staff burnout, and elevating the overall experience for both clinicians and patients.”
