TEANECK, N.J., January 17, 2025—In collaboration with Oxford Economics, Cognizant has enabled a revolution in expenditure as it sees AI taking over the global market with a single transaction in the US reaching up to 4.4 Trillion by the year 2030, expecting over 46% of spending in the US to be AI-driven largely due to consumers between ages 18 to 44 within the next five years.

Brought forth by AI technology, spending is estimated to reach staggering figures globally where the U.K previously estimated to reach $690 billion, would as of 2030 spend $539 billion in Germany and $669 billion in Australia.

As stated by the CEO of Cognizant-

“As AI-influenced spending changes, companies will have to provide a reasonable level of trust to customers in order to maximize the returns on investment that AI can deliver”

The buying process will be reshaped by AI in three specific areas:

1. Discovery Phase: 47% of participants show a willingness to endorse utilizing AI in research and product recommendations, AI-driven tools come in handy during this stage. Personalized search engines coupled with Virtual Assistants do assist in streamlining the decision making and data analysis processes.

2. Purchase Decision Phase: Due to security issues, users become more careful and begin to lose control over the decisions instead of being more cautious while purchasing.

An astounding 75% of partners say that AI should not be left to reorder or pay for high value purchases with no approval. These figures are exacerbated among older populations, as only 16% of people aged 55 and above are comfortable with AI at this stage.

3. Post-purchase phase: Consumer Trust is also restored here, as AI enabled automatic reordering of cheap items like air filters is accepted by 28% of the respondents. Such capabilities show the potential of AI to maximize convenience and reduce effort after the consumer’s purchase.

Cognizant has started the Cognizant Moment ™initiatives and the global Synapse program in order to help companies adjust to this AI-facilitated change.

With these programs, companies intending to build safe and user friendly AI solutions will be able their employees to work in the new AI economy.

The report further states that the wider use of AI will unlock the economy by 1 trillion by the year 2032 in the USA alone, and therefore, firms will have to take advantage of this radical change.

Together with the rethinking of customer service and establishing elements of trust, energetically AIding the business consolidation can help the company be at the forefront in the rapidly changing AI era.
