BARCELONA, SPAIN, 3rd MARCH, 2025 — At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, HONOR highlighted a key change in its strategy, aiming to transform into an AI device ecosystem company with the introduction of the “HONOR Alpha Plan,” which will allocate $10 billion in investment over the next five years.

The project seeks to incorporate artificial intelligence into all the company’s products, including smartphones, PCs, tablets, and wearables. Innovation is the centerpiece of the company’s vision, says CEO James Li.

“We will develop an AI ecosystem comprising interconnected devices that will add greater value to users.”

HONOR expects that as it works alongside prominent companies like Google Cloud and Qualcomm Technologies, it will develop AI capabilities that emphasize user privacy and data protection. Alex Katouzian, Group GM at Qualcomm Technologies, said,

“HONOR’s collaboration with us will get our technology into the hands of powerful new AI devices.”

This approach includes the launch of the HONOR MagicBook Pro 14–an AI equipped laptop with extended battery life, paired with HONOR Watch 5 Ultra, a smartwatch that lasts for 15 days on a single charge. These innovations show how much attention HONOR is putting into developing AI-based consumer electronics.

The company has also confirmed its intention to offer seven years of Android OS and security updates for HONOR Magic’s in the EU market which shows their commitment to consumers.

Also, in a bid to further their sustainability initiatives, HONOR plans to achieve carbon neutral operability by 2040.

Such major shifts in strategy will undoubtedly place HONOR in the vanguard of the AI transformation within consumer electronics, representing an important change in the sector.
