Melbourne, Australia – 15th Jan 2025 – Infosys in collaboration with Tennis Australia has launched a buffet of cutting edge AI technologies at the Australian Open 2025 that consist of Beyond Tennis, which is a generative AI based tennis league that has been assisted by Infosys.16 AI constructed players participating in 8 different teams with an expanded immersive experience will be available to fans all year long. 

Beyond Tennis comes with the ability to train AI players, host and fight in multiple tournaments while offering AI first integration, this alongside Infosys Topaz further broadens the boundaries of the league. One of the most appealing aspects of the event is the VR AI Stadium which allows fans to create their customized courts with the integration of generative AI.  

Other than the aforementioned events, Ashley was also impressed with how AI Commentary, which is part of the Infosys Match Centre, was able to provide accurate snippets of information in real-time. AI is leveraged in the Shot of the Day feature allowing users to generate clips of highlights that can later be published on social media to aid the growing need for stimulating content.  

Andrew Groth the Executive Vice President of Infosys stated the following concerning the launch,

 “To augment fan engagement and player performance we tend to push the limits of technology for the Australian Open every year. And this year, our pioneering AI innovations only further broaden those limits.”  

Craig Tiley, CEO of Tennis Australia, further went ahead and stated noting the latest developments which stated

 “AI is the most powerful tool that is reshaping tennis by revolutionizing fans engagement and player broadcasting information We are proud to say that our partnership with Infosys is able to bring unrivaled experiences that enhance the game of tennis.”   

In these structures, The Infosys Fan Zone is carbon neutral and completely recyclable which means that fans will be able to witness these innovations being tested and displayed in an ecofriendly manner. 

This innovation also marks the start of a decade long partnership between Tennis Australia and Infosys, further emphasizing on how the world of sports is witnessing the profound effects of AI and The Australian Open is a perfect example of technological disruption.
