JetBlue Utilizes PASSUR ARiVA to Reduce Flight Disruptions
JetBlue is getting set for the peak summer travel season, collaborating with a company called PASSUR Aerospace to utilize PASSUR’s smart software ARiVA, planning for mitigating start-up delays, diversions, and a variety of unplanned incidents, all with less inconvenience during their travel.
So what does ARiVA provide? It’s like having an organized assistant in charge of monitoring every JetBlue flight. ARiVA monitors from the time a flight leaves the gate to when it lands at the destination airport.); it monitors in real-time activity, providing live support to their operations for making quicker, better decisions when travel doesn’t go as planned.
Steve Olson, Jr., Sr. VP of Schedule Planning, disclosed ARiVA will certainly work better when demand is increasing. He is optimistic that the team will stay especially ready for the busy travel months.
One of the most interesting features of ARiVA is the intelligence behind it. ARiVA will use advanced technology and intelligent forecasting to predict when a JetBlue flight is going to land, how long it will spend on the taxiway, and any potential delays or other problems (including a flight diversion). JetBlue alerts can even be sent through text messages or emails when a flight is divayed or diverted.
ARiVA also simplifies the communication between JetBlue staff at very busy times (weather and other events requiring substantial disturbances to normal flight schedules). The internal chat functions allow staff to stay connected and collaborate in real-time to make decisions regarding schedules.
PASSUR’s CEO, Brian Cook, believes it is exciting and rewarding that JetBlue is now a user of ARiVA. He sees great potential for ARIVA to be a big leap in managing airline problems proactively rather than reacting to issues once they escalate into major issues. ARiVA lends itself not just to manage flights, but also other air terminal issues like gate assignments, de-icing runway lengths, managing arrivals/departures more effectively, and enhancing recommendations regarding aircraft towing decisions.
In short, JetBlue now has an advanced watchful assistant that will track their flights and allow them to coordinate teams in an efficient urgent manner while keeping calm and in control no matter what the skies throw at them. It’s all about making sure passengers get where they need to go with less stress and fewer delays.
