Microsoft and Pearson Forge Partnership to Tackle AI Skilling Challenges
LONDON and REDMOND – Jan. 14, 2025- Microsoft Corp. and Pearson, a global leadership company in lifelong learning, have announced a strategic partnership to bring a solution focusing on the urgent demand for skilled workforce training in the era of the AI economy.

Through the combination of Pearson’s learning and assessment experience and Microsoft’s AI and cloud computing technology, the partnership aspires to equip organizations, workers and learners with a widespread foundation for success in the age of AI.
According to a recent IDC survey, organizations struggle to implement AI-trained personnel into the AI economy. This was emphasized by the Microsoft and LinkedIn 2024 Work Trend Index, where 66% of leaders preferred candidates with AI skills. Pearson, in another study, stated that AI can reduce about 78 million hours a week that U.S. workers spend on repetitive tasks.
This collaboration is aimed at three different categories:
Personalized Learning at Scale: Pearson will elevate its content and certification services in partnership with Microsoft Azure and AI, enabling a personalized learning experience for millions of learners around the globe.
New Tools and Advanced Credentials: The partnership will create a new AI credential, certification, and tools, including language learning solutions or assessments to help workers build AI skills.
Advancing Careers: Microsoft will expand its collaboration with Pearson VUE so that access is increased to Microsoft Cloud and Office certifications for job and workforce training.
