TOKYO, 10TH APRIL , 2025 — Nissan today announced plans to launch its next-generation ProPILOT autonomous driving technology beginning fiscal year 2027, marking a major step forward in intelligent mobility.

The system will integrate Nissan’s Ground Truth Perception technology with next-generation Lidar and Wayve’s AI Driver software, promising enhanced safety and smarter performance in real-world driving.

The next-gen ProPILOT will feature advanced collision avoidance capabilities and utilize Wayve’s embodied AI foundation model.

This software is engineered to understand and react to complex road scenarios in a human-like manner, drawing from large-scale real-world driving data. It enables point-to-point autonomous navigation across urban and highway settings with high levels of adaptability and reliability.

Wayve, a leader in embodied AI, has developed its AI Driver to continuously improve through deep learning and generative AI. Its model adapts quickly to new vehicle platforms and environments, allowing for a scalable solution that accelerates the deployment of autonomous driving worldwide.

With this partnership, Nissan aims to set a new standard for autonomous vehicle systems, combining the company’s hardware expertise and real-time perception capabilities with Wayve’s software intelligence. Together, the technologies will support safer, smoother, and more intuitive driverless experiences.

The 2027 launch will be a key milestone in Nissan’s long-term strategy to enhance mobility and safety using cutting-edge AI.

As the automotive industry moves toward full autonomy, Nissan’s collaboration with Wayve signals a strong commitment to innovation, future-ready vehicles, and a smarter, more connected driving future.
