TOKYO, JAPAN, 3rd February 2025 – OpenAI in collaboration with SoftBank Group is set to create and launch a new enterprise AI solution dubbed ‘Cristal Intelligence.’

This AI Application is meant to integrate the separate systems and particular data of each enterprise in a secure manner, providing the necessary customization for every company. SoftBank Group Corp. will be the company facilitating the investment with $3 billion to be funneled every year for the implementation of OpenAI’s solutions within the group companies.

The investment automatically makes SoftBank the first corporation in the world to utilize ‘Cristal Intelligence’ on an enterprise scale. The implementation will also incorporate existing systems vendors like ChatGPT Enterprise within the organization to all staff.

In order to increase the speed with which Japanese firms embrace the use of ‘Cristal Intelligence,’ Open AI and SoftBank Group agreed on creating a joint venture ‘SB OpenAI Japan,’ which will solely focus on the marketing of ‘Cristal Intelligence’ to the main corporations within Japan, with a focus on providing AI Agents which facilitate the creation of financial documents, drafting documents and even solving customer queries.

Softbank Group Corp. Chairman & CEO Masayoshi Son said,

“As a result, we are excited to market and launch ‘Cristal Intelligence’ advanced enterprise AI that is tailored to the needs of companies around the world.”

This strategy will not only change how SoftBank Group does business, but it will also change how business is done in Japan and in other countries.”

As stated by Sam Altman, Chief Executive Officer of Open AI,

“Our partnership with SoftBank will further enhance our strategy of building advanced AI capabilities in some of the global business powerhouses, starting from Japan.”

As Rene Haas, CEO of Arm put it,
