Zoom AI Companion launches in Saudi Arabia with Oracle Cloud optimization.

BEIJING, CHINA, 10th February, 2025 – In collaboration with the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Zoom Communications, Inc. announced that it would be providing its AI-first workflow platform to Saudi Arabia.  

The collaboration aims to deliver AI personal assistants that help prioritize work and deliver context-driven responses.  The Zoom AI Companion enables users to summarize meetings and draft messages and creates smart recordings that enables search functionality.  

Zoom Companions are also able to respond to meeting questions from within the Zoom Workplace app. To comply with regulations in Saudi Arabia, Zoom has optimized its models to deploy efficient OCI GPU shapes. 

According to Velchamy Sankarlingam, President of Product and Engineering at Zoom,  

“Saudi Arabia is a key market for Zoom and we continue to invest in Zoom Workplace and AI Companion to provide solutions that meet the unique needs of businesses here.” 

“With the GPU shapes optimized for AI Companion in a local OCI region, we’re empowering Saudi companies to fully leverage AI without any limitations.” 

Karan Batta, who serves as Senior Vice President at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, stated,

Zoom chose OCI because its performance, reliability, and high cloud security enable them to increase the service capacity for concurrent users. OCI is now providing the means to perform the inferencing of Zoom AI Companion in the Oracle Cloud Riyadh and Jeddah Regions, allowing OCI to best serve Zoom’s clients in Saudi Arabia. 

Such development proves how important and instrumental AI and cloud infrastructure is in improving and streamlining business processes and it directly contributes to the Vision 2030 goal of Saudi Arabia on digital transformation.
