ZTE’s “5i” Vision: The Bold AI Plan to Close the Digital Divide in Eurasia
TASHKENT UZBEKISTAN , May 23RD , 2025 — ZTE Corporation, a global and very renowned ICT solution provider, made a strong statement at the GSMA M360 Eurasia forum held from May 21 to 22. As a Gold Partner, ZTE highlighted AI as a technology of transformation and shared its vision of a “5i” approach – Inspiration, Intelligence, Innovation, Inclusion, and Impact, to close the chasm of the intelligent economy.
James Zhang, Senior Vice President of ZTE, presented the keynote speech, underlining the fact that AI has great NN power to stimulate growth in the world GDP by 3.5% by the year 2030, as predicted by IDC. He spoke of the three pillars for intelligent economic growth: strong digital infrastructure, AI-enabled business models, and ethical deployment of technology with a people-first attitude.
“AI is not just a technology, but a catalyst for economic growth and inclusive development,” said James Zhang.
“Through the ‘5i’, we are unlocking new value across industries. ZTE has embedded advanced AI capabilities across our entire ecosystem – from RAN networks and intelligent computing infrastructure to smart manufacturing and next-gen devices. We are committed to unlocking new value for our partners through AI-driven innovation.”
ZTE plays this role particularly in the Eurasian region, with 5G connections making up only 1% of global totals. However, by marrying AI with mobile innovations such as FDD M-MIMO and DSS, ZTE enhances 4G efficiency and intermediate 5G migration, saves essential operator assets, and renders it at lower costs.
James Zhang stated: “For developing regions, AI can become a tool for equity, making technology a driving force for inclusivity and progress. Over the past few years, ZTE has maintained long-term strategic cooperation with major operators in the Eurasian region. ZTE is committed to empowering operators to accelerate network development. By integrating technologies like FDD M-MIMO, DSS, and AI into 4G networks, ZTE unlocks the full potential of 4G, ensures a seamless evolution to 5G, and safeguards key operator assets such as spectrum, networks, and user bases. Moving forward, we will continue accelerating the development of the mobile economy across the region through AI-driven innovation, providing comprehensive 5G products and services with superior performance and cost-effectiveness, helping countries build new digital infrastructure, and promoting the digital transformation of various industries.”
The company reaffirmed its support for the nationwide endeavor, “Digital Uzbekistan 2030,” which aims to make Uzbekistan a digital hub. ZTE has played an important role by extending mobile networks into remote areas for inclusive connectivity and by working with local universities to build future ICT talent.
“We believe the future of Eurasia’s digital economy lies in inclusive innovation,” said James Zhang.
“For ZTE, we are helping shape a more connected, empowered, and intelligent future for the region through strategic partnerships, AI-driven solutions, and deep local engagement. Mobile investment is not just about numbers, it’s about lighting the path to a more connected, efficient, intelligent, and empowered world. Join us in igniting this transformative journey.”
As the Eurasian region intensifies its digital shift, ZTE’s AI-powered solutions and strategic partnerships aim to open new vistas of economic possibilities that ensure every citizen has access to the intelligent economy of tomorrow. Through innovation and local engagement, ZTE is paving the path toward a more connected and empowered Eurasia.
