“Squeezing People!”: Zuckerberg Takes a Jab at Apple, X Users Divided
January 13, 2025, USA- In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg took a dig at the Tech Giant Apple saying
“They haven’t invented anything great in a while: “Steve Jobs invented the iPhone and now they’re just sitting on it 20 years later… so how are they making more money as a company? They do it by squeezing people“

Zuckerberg accused Apple of relying on the success of the iPhone while failing to introduce groundbreaking products in the last two decades and his candid remark has sparked a heated debate on X (formerly Twitter), as users react to his critique of Apple’s lack of innovation. Some supported this sentiment, agreeing that Apple’s annual upgrades feel more iterative than revolutionary. While some agree with the Meta CEO, others in support of Apple’s R&D and product quality, have labeled his comments hypocritical and criticized Meta’s lack of privacy as well.
One user pointed out the issues with Apple’s Vision Pro while another spoke of Cook’s focus only on profit unlike Steve Jobs.
Mostly true. Vision Pro is amazing as a vision of product through. But their problem is they have best business ever. Let me elaborate:

Apple problem is they have best business ever: Tim Cook manages the company so amazingly well with such ideal stats for revenue, revenue…
”Tim Cook is primarily focused on profit, which has led to Apple becoming stagnant and less innovative. In contrast, Steve Jobs prioritized creating groundbreaking products that would transform the world and resonate deeply with people.

However, critics of Zuckerberg were quick to point out the irony in his statements and Meta’s lack of care for its user’s privacy and how Apple have always cared for that.
Nope I understand Zuck perspective but Meta didn't not respect his users privacy in the past , Apple did . That level of privacy as a cost ! Enough said ….

Zuckerberg also took aim at Apple’s App Store policies, calling the 30% developer fee arbitrary and suggesting Apple enforces it to subsidize declining iPhone sales. The comment reignited discussions about fairness in the app ecosystem.
The debate underlines the question: Has Apple become complacent, or is it refining its legacy?
As X users continue to clash, the tech rivalry between Meta and Apple is going to be there for now. Zuckerberg also revealed in the same podcast his ambitions to automate mid-level software engineering roles by AI by 2025 and possibly replacing them too in the future.
